Selma Odom on Émile Jaques-Dalcroze
If you have taught or even studied music you may have heard of the Swiss composer, musician and educator, Émile Jaques-Dalcroze (1865 –1950). His influence went far beyond music, however, extending to education, psychology, therapy, and all the arts. He also collaborated with many other brilliant individuals in his day.
This session (the first of two) will feature Dr. Selma Odom, who has researched and published extensively on Dalcroze. She blends archival research with participant observation, interviewing, and practical collaboration to explore past and present ways of working.
